Privacy Policy

The Naturalist (“we”, “us”) is operated by Zander Mai (The Naturalist) in Orange County, California. This policy explains what information we collect through www.thenaturalist.clinic (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Consultation waitlist (when available). Name, email, phone (optional), where you will be located during consultations, a description of your symptoms or concerns, how long they have lasted, whether you have had labs or imaging, your preferred format of care, and anything else you choose to share.
- The Archive. Your first name and email when you request the free Nam Dược Thần Hiệu Introductory Volume or join the Archive list.
- Email. Anything you send to info@thenaturalist.clinic.
Health information
The waitlist asks about your health so we can understand whether our approach may suit you. Submitting it does not create a practitioner–patient relationship and is not a request for medical advice. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. We treat this information as confidential, use it only to respond to you about consultations, and never sell it or use it for advertising.
If you later become a patient, your clinical records are handled separately under applicable health-privacy law, including California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, and you will receive any required notice at that time.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our hosting provider and the services that deliver parts of the Site (fonts, images, and embedded tools) receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages requested.
How we use information
- To respond to you and contact you when consultations open
- To send the Introductory Volume and occasional Archive updates you signed up for (unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email)
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site
- To comply with law
We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
Services that process information for us
- Formspree: receives waitlist submissions
- Kit (ConvertKit): manages the Archive email list
- Our website host and Google Fonts: deliver the Site
These providers act on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security terms.
How long we keep it
Waitlist submissions are kept until consultations open and for up to 12 months afterward, then deleted, unless you become a patient. Email list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, by emailing info@thenaturalist.clinic. We will respond within 45 days. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act where it applies, and we honor these requests regardless of whether the law requires it. We do not discriminate against anyone for making a request.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or email transmission is completely secure. Do not send highly sensitive information by email.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the effective date.
